The US Marine Corps has contracted with Raytheon to produce two prototypes of CLAWS (Complementary Low Altitude Weapon System), basically a ground-to-air version of the AIM-120 AMRAAM missile. While the Army will mount its ground-launched AMRAAMs on Humvees, the Marines are studying LAVs, 2.5-ton trucks, and 5-ton trucks.--Stephen V Cole
