In Pakistan, police found and killed, after a four hour gun battle, al Qaeda leader Amjad Hussain Farooqi. The suspect was believed involved in the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002 and two assassination attempts against president Musharraf last year. Three of Farooqi's associates were taken alive. In the last two months, Pakistan has killed or captured at least seventy al Qaeda members.
