Philippines: Poverty Stricken Terrorists in the South

Over the Summer, Indonesia captured several terrorists who had received training in camps located in the Moslem south of the Philippines. Captured documents indicate that Abu Sayyaf rebels play a leading role in Islamic terrorism activities in the Philippines. The terrorists are always short of cash, and discussed asking Arab groups for money in order to buy weapons and explosives, as well as to pay the travel and living expenses of terrorists.
